Update on Services and CEO Statement (June 2020)
With the constantly changing position with the COVID-19 pandemic, at APH we think it is important that we keep you informed with what is happening with our services to you and services available in the local community. You can also find out more detailed information on our website.
Despite the partial relaxation of lockdown, the majority of APH staff are still working remotely at home but we do have colleagues who are classed as essential workers who have been providing tailored estate and neighbourhood services to you. They have of course been supplied with appropriate PPE.
During the whole period of lockdown……
- Our Neighbourhood Services Team have remained on-site 24/7 providing a concierge service and an emergency cleaning service
- Our Estates Services Team and approved contractors are providing an emergency repair service
- Hadfield & Britain are carrying Gas Safety checks and it is very important that you allow them access in accordance with social distancing guidelines so they can ensure your gas supply is safe
- We are still working with the Local Authority to provide emergency accommodation where it is safe and appropriate
Based on the regular announcements from the Government and in anticipation of further changes to restrictions, we have been working on an APH “Roadmap out of Lockdown”. This considers which additional services we can safely provide for you our residents.
Our over-riding principle being to safeguard you, APH colleagues and our contractors. We anticipate that this will be a gradual process and what was previously classed as normal service will still be some way off.
My previous letters to you have outlined the essential services we have been delivering during lockdown and although the APH office remains closed at this time, we are now able to share with you a series of updated service sheets for our housing, maintenance and customer services. - non-emergency external works / repairs
- welfare advice appointments
- property sign-ups
These services will continue to be reviewed as more Government announcements, on the opening up of businesses and social distancing guidance (2M down to 1M), are anticipated during late June – early July).
It is still very important that you continue to pay your rent through Allpay, Direct Debit or Standing Order. Some people may be concerned about their financial situation over recent days and weeks. If you are in this situation, we will do all we can to help you and your family.
If you need support or advice about claiming benefits, or you think you will have difficulty making rent payments as a result of self-isolating, or changes to your employment, please call us on the above telephone number and we will arrange a telephone consultation or appointment with our Welfare Advice Officer.

Finally, if you become symptomatic or even if you believe you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and you or a family member is having to go out to work, then you can now get tested locally for Covid19. The details of how to do this can be found on the Gov.uk website. If you need any help with this, then please contact our Customer Services Team.
