Annual Report to Tenants
Dear APH Tenant
Welcome to the new APH Annual Report to Tenants. This last year has been one of our most successful, especially taking into consideration the recession and the fragile economic recovery.
We have continued to provide high quality housing, estate and neighbourhood services with, for example, some 110 new lettings and 3490 repairs progressed during 2009/10.
Many of you will know from last year’s consultation and Pioneer News that there is a new regulator for Housing Associations called the Tenant Services Authority (TSA). In 2009 we carried out a major consultation with you to help the TSA develop new standards and proposals for regulation. After listening to the views of tenants and landlords across the country, the TSA published a new regulatory framework that sets out national standards for all social housing providers, including Ashton Pioneer Homes.
We have carried out a self assessment against these national standards and we are satisfied we meet them. Our next stage is to work together with you, our tenants, to develop our own local standards for APH. This annual report sets out how we will progress our own APH standards and ensure we continue to improve our services and the levels of tenant satisfaction we can provide for you.
Finally local residents have been very much involved in the design and content of this report and we would like to thank all those that participated.
We are now seeking your feedback on this draft following which we will be printing copies for circulation to each of your homes.
Warren Bray - Chairman
