Floating Support – Supported Housing

Ashton Pioneer Homes (APH) is fully committed to the Tameside Supporting People Strategy.  We work in partnership with all the agencies that provide additional support to vulnerable people.

Supported Housing In Tameside

Funded by Tameside MBC, the supported housing contract is operated in partnership with Foundation, Threshold and Housing Advice.  This is a new contract which commenced on 1st April 2013 for people requiring accommodation-based support.  People in need of support can utilise the Single Point of Access (SPA) provided by Housing Advice from their office on Old Street in Ashton-under-Lyne.

For short-term support they will be directed to Threshold (see below) and should they have more complex needs for long-term support they will be directed to Foundation (see below).

Great Moves Tameside (Threshold) runs short term accommodation based support service for predominantly younger people (under 30) under a contract with Tameside Council. The services provide both housing management and support within a range of properties including self-contained and shared.

This scheme is designed to support those people with more complex needs who will require accommodation based support throughout Tameside.

The key aim of services that both Threshold and Foundation provide, is to equip people with skills to assist them to live independently in the community.

All referrals should be made to the Single Point of Access (SPA) which operates from the Tameside Housing Advice office.

As a partner agency APH can make a referral using Tameside’s Common Referral Form for accommodation based support services to the SPA access team

Floating Support In Tameside

Funded by Tameside MBC and working in partnership with APH, floating support services in Tameside are provided by Adullam Homes Housing Association.

logo - Adullam HomesAdullam Homes offer a floating support service for anyone over 16, offering practical advice, support and assistance to people living in their own homes.  They help people apply for housing and support people to maintain and sustain their tenancies.

Drop-In

Adullam also run drop-in sessions across Tameside offering confidential advice and support relating to benefit issues, housing, debt and anti-social behaviour.  They also signpost clients to other services that may be able to offer additional support when available.  It is not necessary to make an appointment but you can ring to make one if you prefer on 0161 339 5450.

Tameside Community Response Service

Funded by Tameside MBC, Tameside Community Response Service (CRS) provide a mobile warden and social alarm service to any vulnerable residents throughout Tameside. This alarm service helps people live safely and independently in their own home.

CRS employ a team of local workers who will respond in case of emergency. They provide different types of alarms depending on your needs and health. Some are activated by you; others are triggered by sensors installed in your home.

This service is for anyone living in Tameside either in private, rented or owner- occupied accommodation.  It is available to anyone over 18 regardless of their personal circumstances.
