Ashton Pioneer Homes would like to thank everyone for their kind support following the sudden passing of our friend and colleague Linda Fletcher. We have recieved many messages from across the local community and the social housing sector. We want to give the opportunity to her friends and the many members of the local community that knew Linda, to reflect their messages in a book of condolance at the APH office. we will assemble these messages of remembrance and present them to Linda’s family.

Universal Credit is coming to Tameside this month! Universal Credit is a new simpler, single monthly payment for people of working age who are looking for work or who are on a low income. It’s being introduced in Tameside from the 29th April 2013. It’s a new single monthly payment for people in or out of work, which merges together some of the benefits and tax credits that you might be getting now. READ MORE INSIDE

Ashton Pioneer Homes play their part in Formby tribute. A commemorative plaque acknowledging the personal achievement of Ashton born music hall star George Formby senior along with his cultural heritage was unveiled on saturday the 2nd of June.

Thank You Warren
APH held it’s Annual General Meeting on the 20th of October 2011 and the meeting recorded a significant milestone for the Association with our Chairman, Councillor Warren Bray, deciding to stand down as Chair after over 14 years at the helm. That period has been one of massive change for APH estates, tenants and the Board. Staff and tenants would like to acknowledge the leadership Warren has given to our work and his personal commitment as Chair.

Community Street Party 29th of April 2011
The sun was shining on Friday when the PG Tips Gardeners completed the plant display outside Ryecroft House. Greenscape gave a helping hand and I hope you all agree that it looks fantastic! Everyone worked really hard on the day and a good time was had by all! Local residents that were walking past stopped to have a chat and their comments were really positive. Residents thanked the Gardeners and Greenscape for a job well done and were so happy at the result! The Gardeners are now looking forward to planning their next project. Grand Opening of New Playground
Tenants living on West Park will not have failed to notice work to the new playground. Pendlewood Ltd and APH have combined to give the playground a sensational revamp. Also in this edition our 2008 – 09 Performance Report. our Chair said, ‘Yet another excellent year in terms of staff performance and efficiency savings. I would like to thank the staff, Board and local residents for their contribution in making APH one of the top performing Housing Associations in the country.’

As it was our 10th birthday in May this year we held a funday on Sunday 17th May to celebrate. I’m sure you’ll agree that it was a fantastic event with abseiling, facepainting, brass bands and much, much more.

APH gets funding for play equipment
Ashton Pioneer Homes have been successful in gaining funding of £48,000 to upgrade the play area over on West Park.
And the winner is…………Pioneer Gardeners!
Yes it’s true our neighbourhood has won another regional award. This time it’s the Pioneer Gardeners that have won the Housing Excellence and TPAS Award for the Green Project of the Year, 2008.

Welcome to Ashton Pioneer Homes
Ashton Pioneer Homes is a Local Housing Company as created by the Housing Act, 1996. It was specifically set up to accept the transfer of 900 homes that previously belonged to Tameside Council. It is entirely independent and free of any other Housing Associations.
Your Tenancy Agreement is a legally binding contract and if you wish to terminate the contract, you must give Ashton Pioneer Homes 4 weeks notice in writing. Your notice period MUST COMMENCE ON A MONDAY

Paying For Your Rent
When you become a tenant of Ashton Pioneer Homes you will sign a Tenancy Agreement which is a legal contract. This will explain your responsibilities as a tenant the main one of which is to pay your rent each week.
